Peace is the Recipe

Hello and Welcome Back to A Beard's Eye View.

A Beard's Eye View has been out of commission.

A Beard's Eye View has been out on a mission.

We've been blessed to take this music across the country, blessed to spill our gifts from the stage and
excited to interact with the Love, to play with the energy in a room. The exchange of energy.  And then you move from town to town more often than not that love stays with you and you share it with the next town and the next..And when you come home you have this ball of love with pieces from across the country.

With the idea that our country is part of many other countries, I pause in silence and pray for the folks who lost their lives in many places across the globe. Be it by human hand or the Earth herself. I also pray for the families of the loved ones who choose violence.
Pray for Hope and Healing to the hearts and minds of EVERYONE.

The World is so big and yet so small. The world is super mean and yet so kind.
Kind of like us,
mean and kind,
big and small.
Our dreams and our fears seem far too big for little ole us. When we turn on the news and see some of the horrible things we humans are capable of, the problem seems bigger than the solution.

So let us breathe a breath of peace and let that peace fill our whole body, all of our thoughts all of our actions. May we share that peace with everyone we meet. Even ourselves.
With peace in our hearts let us greet this day together.

Peace and many thanks

A Story is Born

Good Day World,
Make Hope Tour is ready to set sail for the west.
With that being my reality I took this time to truly "be" at home this weekend.
To Be Present In Each Moment.
Taking a cue from my wife's lenten resolution
No internet, no phones, no electronic devices on Saturday or Sunday.
My boys and I only had one exception..
11 minutes to play as many rounds as possible on Super Smash Brothers!

We had a blast! The 11 minutes turned into 14!
And for anyone that knows me, that's making really good progress.
For those of you who are getting to know me better,
let's just say that "time" is not really my strong suit.

As I sit playing with my boys, I started to think how cool it was...
A majority of the characters being played with this new generation
were the characters from when I as a kid.

I got to thinking about stories. It seems they started off as word of mouth,
then they found there way to the pages. Next came sound recordings.
Followed by our stories finding their way on the silver screen.
Now with video games you can  interact and impact the story itself.

I believe the tapestry of stories have two common threads.
1. Imagination
2. Creation
When woven together the myths and tales have...
put our kids to bed,
given us the perfect recipe,
provided us the right notes to a song,
allowed us to escape into another galaxy
and even given us something to believe in:
a message of hope.

One question I have for you world.
In what stories, myths or tales by (word, paper, sound or screen) have you found Hope?

I'll share one that kind of sparked this whole blog.
Super Mario Brothers.
I love it! Two Italian plumber brothers figure out how to travel through pipes,
to strange and distant worlds. Fight really wild beasts
and battle a huge fire breathing "dragon" only to rescue the princess.

It reminds me of how I met my wife ; )

It's a blessed and busy road and I look forward to seeing you on it.

peace.
love,
ND

Compass of the Winds

Good Day World,
I hope this greeting meets you all, where you want to be.
With today's meeting, I would like to ask you a question.
I'll set it up...

As the days fall away before Make Hope Tour picks up her bags to head west; time turns loud!
I feel a huge dose of perspective is gained when you know there are limits.
For example, I know we hit the road in 3 days, that's 3 days, at home before we're gone.
What can we do to make those days awesome? What can we do to keep those days somewhat normal? Its part of the deal, cause this isn't the first tour we've been on and most definitely not the last.

When your dreams turn to  reality "parts" of that reality have to be run like a business; how do you navigate those waters?

With balance and faith.
A lotta love and forgiveness
and the ability to let it all go. We can yield the fruit of Peace.
What a Road Map!
This road map is a book of faith.
Written in the language of love and forgiveness.
The Lesson is: TO LET IT ALL GO.
When all those ingredients mix we get Peace.
And the characters are us seeking and trying to maintain the balance amidst the winds of life.
It is a process that takes continued practice and discipline forever changing and evolving.

What is your "compass" you use to navigate the winds of your life?

"It's A Blessed And Busy Road And I Look Forward To Seeing You On It!"

Peace.

Love,
ND

Good Day World

Good Day World.
A Beard's Eye View daily greeting.
I pledge to try and make a once a day meeting.
To document perspective from what feels like " A Love Train fueled by Hope" that we've been taking across the country. And in further attempts to change the recipe of this "blog" I made a special
"Beard's Eye View" Logo. It felt awesome to make and create via the route of visual expression. I hope you do enjoy.

Make Hope Tour has been makin her way across the country. We just got back from a very fun run in Texas. With a return stop back at the Dosey Doe Cafe in Conroe,  a new "home" in Longview at S.E. Belcher Performance Center, and our first stop in Austin at the Roost.

One of our fans told our guitar player, " Tell Nicky his heart is as big as Texas"
He replied, " That's as big as it gets"

I share that with ya'll because it sums up the love we felt taking Make Hope to Texas.
Every place we played we were loved with a love as big as Texas.
From the breath of our hearts "Thank you Texas."
From the fans to the staff of every spot we stopped, you were wonderful!

As we get ready to leave next week to bring Make Hope out West to California.
I recharge my heart with the laughter of my children.
In between business calls I steal a dance with my wife while Tony Bennett's I Wanna Be Around spins on the record player in our kitchen.
Even though it's -2o below it's home.
My inspiration, my drive, my roots, my home, my Heart.

It's a Blessed and Busy Road and I look forward to seeing  you on it.

Peace to your Heart
Peace to your Families
and
Peace to the Whole Wide World

Perspective

Good Morning World.
Nicholas David reporting back after a long communication hibernation.
I #hope everyone had  wonderful holiday celebrations.
I do believe a belated...
Happy New Year
is in order as well.
Wishing you all the Peace, Health, and Happiness your hearts can hold in this new year.

As we are getting ready to hit the road again for Make Hope Tour Vol. 2,
a huge dose of perspective and appreciation is coming with us on tour.

It's one thing and an amazing blessing when your dreams turn into reality.

It's another thing turning that reality into a business.

"everything is as it is and should be"

I've been chatting with the band as we get ready to hit the road, n the themes of our talks are.
Family
Opportunity
and
Excitement

Family.

Family is where we come from and why we do what we do.
It's who we do it for.
And who we couldn't do it without.

Family is also ALL of YOU.
We've been making #hope and blessed to take #hope across the country.
Every city is the same to the degree that You All have so much Love to Give.
And your participation and the sharing of your time creates the...

Opportunity.

The opportunity to share the gifts we've been given,
the opportunity to do what we love
the opportunity to be a positive force in this world
the opportunity to touch the hearts of the folks across this planet.
the opportunity to make #hope and the opportunity to take risks.
And with those risks comes..

Excitement

Our hearts are on fire and we are excited to get back on the road and continue to bring
You the People
Music from the Heart, For the Heart

We've revamped our website folks, to check it out  click Here.

Peace and many thanks for your continued support ladies and gents.
We look forward to seein you on the road.
Hey Now!

MAKE HOPE

The Return of the Blog Part 1

We lost communication for a couple of months. But transmission is up and running. We have a signal.
Since we've left off there's been family time, the kid's growing up fast, a dear friends wedding on a beach
with white sand between our toes.  Learning various in's and outs and ups and downs of life.
A recent tour that started in Miami, Florida and climbed up the coast through
D.C. to Pennsylvania to New York to Fitchburg Mass. to Michigan to Chicago to Madison Wisconsin with our buddies Pert Near Sandstone. Another stop in Wisco in Marshfield, then back home in Minnesota in Winona at Ed's. "pictures coming soon". Not to mention getting ready for our show at the Fitzgerald in St. Paul. MN on Dec. 6th.

We called that tour Make Hope Tour. Vol. 1 in celebration of the NEW EP MAKE HOPE. Which is available on our website in our store, as well as various outlets online.
We've been working on this record in between babies being born, moving, being on tv, people getting married, learning and living with loss, turning dreams into reality and dancing with them, touring the country,
and going outside of the country to share the music of the HEART.

Thank you for your consistent patience love and support as this journey continues to unfold and touch
the hearts and minds of people all over this country and different pockets of the world!
"It's music from the Heart for the Heart" and that's our mantra, that's our prayer, that's our message.

If you want to hear more of the message and stay connected, we have a couple new ways to do so.
1.  I just started a new YouTube Channel which has our brand new music video FRESH.
2.  You can go to our website www.thefeelin.com  and click on JOIN OUR EMAIL LIST
3.   We've added some new music to our STORE,  including the NEW EP "MAKE HOPE"
and be on the look out for new shirts, tour posters and some original artwork.

Peace and many many thanks
I truly appreciate all of your support and love

Blessed & Busy

Welcome back to the Monday Morning Meditation.
It has been sometime since the monday morning blog, or the bloggin for that matter.
There has been so much LIFE happening.

My wife and I are watching our children grow so fast.  I've truly been making it a point, that while I'm HOME... to be home.
In the middle of weaving in and out of various time zones peppered with a colorful cast of characters who keep odd and all hours, "including myself".
Life has been busy and this train hasn't stopped.
Blessed and Busy
But there's these breaks almost Divinely Orchestrated in their timing.
These moments of CLARITY, that shine a light in the darkness of doubt.

Balance
is the meditation
it is the way
It is a state to be reached
and once reached...
Maintained.

Navigation through the everything in our day,
In our Life.
Speaking of life.
This was the first time in a long time I spent the weekend with my WIFE kid free.
Thank you thank you to both of the GRANDPARENTS
for watching our kiddos, so we could have some Mommy and Daddy time.

My Gal and I started the weekend off headin down to Winona for the 10th Annual...
Our dear friends Pert Near Sandstone closed out the night on Friday...
but not without asking our good buddy Sammy Weyandt from White Iron Band and
myself to be their special guests for the whole night!
It was such a gas a true treat to return to the Roots so to speak and play with old friends.

A big thank you to the Fassbenders and everyone else in their crew for putting on such
a fun festival! 10 years Strong!
A huge success and space and place for gathering together and sharing the gift of music and song.

The next morning found my wife and I having to wake up and get out of bed heading North.
Our next stop was St. Cloud.
Again some of our dear old friends Collective Unconcious were playing at a Gala for the
In the spirit of "Coming Together" to raise money to continue to support the Arts.
Collective Unconscious played all of Abbey Road in it's Entirety!
I had the privilege and treat of sharing the stage with them for a tune or two.
Thank you thank you to everyone who came out.
Your continued support helps keeps the arts alive.
It helps provide a place for expression to be experienced.
And for that and from the breath of my Heart I Thank You.

I've talked about it for a while but MAKE HOPE is finished and almost ready for the people.
Please Stay Tuned for the book is about to open.
Very soon...
Peace and many many thanks for your continued support.
